Job description
Please note this position is part-time working 25 hours per week between Monday and Friday. Flexibility will be required as workloads may fluctuate. We are happy to consider flexibility in how and when the 25 are worked during the week.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the Group’s operations are fully compliant with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements while effectively managing a range of critical administrative functions. This includes assessing, advising and taking action where appropriate on risk in areas across the Group . By balancing legal risk management with operational efficiency, this position plays a key role in supporting the Group’s strategic objectives and maintaining its ethical and regulatory integrity across all Group Companies.
Responsibilities
- Internal Legal Management and Advice
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; advise upon practical solutions for structuring agreements and transactions; liaise with 3rd parties as necessary including Group lawyers and Government Departments; manage licence arrangements; advise on compliance issues in foreign jurisdictions where Group Companies operate, including the USA; manage inter-Company Service Agreements
- Risk Management
Manage the Group Risk Register and Group Business Continuity Plans; advise upon governance framework and code of conduct, manage group insurance arrangements.
- Producer Rulebook
Maintain and update the Producer Rulebook, ensuring alignment with industry standards and Group objectives; investigate disputes and provide recommendations.
- Contracts Management
Draft, review and manage contracts with suppliers, customers and service providers; ensure all contracts comply with legal regulatory and commercial requirements.
- Company Secretarial
Maintain statutory books and records; check board minutes; prepare annual returns; manage administration of USA companies
- Data Protection
Act as the Group's Data Protection Officer; ensure compliance with Group procedures; maintain and oversee compliance with data protection regulations; implement and manage data protection policies and training programmes; provide advice and information to the Data Controller and Processor as required; liaise with the supervisory authority on behalf of the Group where required; maintain records and update policies.
- Other tasks
Manage Group property arrangements including inter-company leases and service agreements and regulatory requirements; oversee the Company's pension scheme to ensure compliance with relevant regulations; update and maintain the 'Company Information' page within Microsoft Sharepoint; partake in internal audits as part of the senior management team responsibilities.
Qualifications
- ICSA qualified or part-qualified, or similar (desirable)
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Isle of Man regulations and standards, including data protection (essential)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (essential)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills (essential)
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret regulatory requirements (essential)
- The ability to draft contracts and clauses (essential)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (essential)
- The ability to communicate risk and provide reasoned judgement to senior level (essential)
- A respect and understanding of confidentiality when handling sensitive information (essential)

Experience
- 3+ years proven experience in a compliance, governance, or quality management role (essential)
