About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Landscape Architect to expand our existing award-winning team of Landscape Designers. The post will be located in one of our multi-disciplinary teams based in London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh.

We have an expanding portfolio of challenging and high-profile projects including residential masterplanning, university campuses, parks projects, town centre public realm enhancement projects as well as urban design work. You will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of sought-after projects with prestigious clients, whilst also working alongside Directors with a strong reputation in the industry and gaining exposure to different specialist fields.

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.

Our design projects are primarily UK and Ireland focussed, and LUC respects the need of staff to balance their home and working lives.

A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role, including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week), if desired.

Salary: £27,750 - £39,000 FTE (Dependent on experience) Plus £4,000 London allowance if applicable.

Experience and qualifications

The successful candidate will have strong design skills and a general all-round interest across landscape design, green infrastructure, active travel, public realm, masterplanning and urban regeneration. They should have strong digital and hand drawing skills and excellent written communication ability. You will be a creative designer, able to produce innovative and original work and committed to pursuing a career in this field.

Essential

  • Educated with a relevant Landscape Architecture qualification at degree or post graduate level or a blend of knowledge and qualifications reflecting a similar level of expertise.
  • Excellent visual communication skills including use of the full Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A passion for delivering projects that make a difference - both to people and to the environment.
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Proficiency in the use of drawing software including AutoCAD.

Desirable

  • Keen to begin their Pathway to Chartership/become a fully chartered member of the Landscape Institute, or may have recently achieved CMLI status.
  • Understanding of BIM standards and use of Revit software.
  • Strong hand drawing skills.
  • UK Driving Licence.
