Location: Rainbow SureStart (Castlederg, Drumquin, Newtownstewart and Belleek)

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Tenure: Permanent

Salary: Point (12-17) (£29,290.62–£31,714.79) per annum pro rata

The role

Partnership and Collaboration

Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Rainbow Sure Start Manager, Outreach Team Lead, Sure Start colleagues, partner organisations, and local families to deliver on the goals of the Sure Start Business Plan.

Service Planning and Delivery

Help plan and deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of children under four and their families. Support the delivery of health, wellbeing, and play programmes across Rainbow Sure Start areas.

Family Support

Work alongside parents and parents-to-be to strengthen their role as their children's primary educators, helping them address any barriers or challenges they face. Provide one-to-one support where needed or connect families with appropriate agencies and services.

Engagement and Access

Encourage and support families to access Sure Start services, linking them with relevant team members as appropriate.

Training and Outreach

Deliver training programmes and targeted services to improve outcomes for children and families within the Sure Start catchment area

Essential criteria

1. An NVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or NVQ Level III in Early Years Care and Education or Level III Award in Community Development or equivalent

2. Two years’ experience delivering family support interventions to both parents and children.

3. One year’s experience of planning and facilitating group activities to support children, parents and families.

4. An understanding of safeguarding/child protection issues and procedures.

5. Knowledge of the issues relating to young children and families and the SureStart aims and objectives and how these can be achieved.

6. A full current driving licence enabling the holder to drive in NI and have the use of a vehicle for official purposes or have access to a form of transport that will enable the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full

Desirable criteria

1. A degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, Health and Social Care, Community Development or equivalent.
