We are looking for a talented Commercial Manager to join our team in either Bearsted or Wimbledon.
Example Duties:
• To assume responsibility for the management of Cherry Procurement for DPS
• To support the management of Stonefruit Procurement for DPS
• To deliver an outstanding understanding of service expectations to the business and ensure these expectations are met
• Achieve sales, volume and margin targets within the department
• Establish, develop and maintain supplier / grower relationships
• Produce and prepare weekly costings, to share with the customer
• Manage price returns back to the supplier / grower within the agreed timescales
• Produce and prepare EOS reviews with the customer and suppliers within the agreed timescales
• Identify and deliver cost savings throughout the supply chain
• Identify and deliver improved ways of working Liaise with internal departments (supply chain, procurement, technical, operations) to ensure quality and timely delivery of product
• Be part of the ongoing development of a joint category plan for all the customer
• Provide the business with accurate account information for the use in longer term forecasting and programming
• Contribute creatively and technically towards the promotion and development of the product range
• Liaise with customer and technical teams to address sourcing and availability issues
• Understand and communicate technical issues with the customer commercial team where necessary and liaise on these issues internally with technical and quality teams to achieve satisfactory resolution
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the market sector including consumer trends, competitor activity and product lines
• Ensure the adherence of administrative and financial systems and controls
People Management:
• Developing employee skills and performance through training and coaching
• Hiring, training, and developing new employees to meet organisational needs
• Providing feedback on an employee’s performance, helping to develop an employee’s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems.
• Monitoring employee attendance and performance to ensure that they meet required standards of conduct and performance.
• Assigning tasks and projects to employees according to their strengths and weaknesses
• Conducting exit interviews with former employees to determine why they are leaving the organisation.
• Coordinating employee meetings such as staff meetings or team meetings
• Maintaining employee records such as personnel files and documentation of disciplinary actions
• Reviewing employee performance evaluations and providing feedback on areas for improvement
