Receptionist and Administrative Assistant
Reception, Southampton
Paris Smith is one of the leading law firms in the Central South, known for our commitment to excellence, integrity, and client care. We’re looking for a professional and personable Receptionist to join our friendly and welcoming team in Southampton, with occasional cover at our Winchester office in Parchment Street.
The Role
As part of the Reception team, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and colleagues—setting the tone for a warm, efficient, and professional experience. Alongside front-of-house duties, you’ll support the General Office team with light administrative tasks to keep things running smoothly.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The role consists of:
• Greeting clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
• Managing incoming calls and directing them appropriately
• Assisting with incoming post, deliveries and contractor enquiries
• Assisting with archiving and other administrative tasks
• Assist with client hospitality during busy times or holidays
• Providing Reception cover at our Winchester office when needed
The Candidate
We’re seeking someone who thrives in a client-facing role and enjoys being part of a busy, collaborative team. You’ll be organised, proactive, and confident in juggling multiple tasks with a smile. You’ll ideally have:
• Previous experience in a professional services environment
• Previous experience as a Receptionist, preferably using Teams telephony
• Excellent IT skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional and approachable manner
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Flexibility to travel to Winchester for cover when required
