At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects.

Aquaterra Energy is seeking a practical and safety conscious Workshop Technician to join our Operations team in Great Yarmouth on a full time basis.

This is a varied, hands-on position in which you will prepare, inspect, maintain, reassemble and test specialist equipment used to support our offshore engineering projects. You will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor, Operations Manager, Project Engineers and other colleagues to ensure equipment is prepared correctly, mobilised efficiently and returned in a safe and serviceable condition.

The role would suit someone with previous mechanical or technical experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work and can respond positively to changing project priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Dismantling, inspecting, reassembling and testing equipment across the Aquaterra Energy product lines.
• Preparing and redressing specialist tools and equipment for offshore projects.
• Supporting factory acceptance testing at the Aquaterra Energy yard and at off-site premises.
• Preparing and mobilising equipment for offshore project phases.
• Managing project inventory and supporting the demobilisation of equipment.
• Recording relevant project information, including measurements, serial numbers, elevations and depths.
• Maintaining equipment at project sites and returning it in a serviceable condition.
• Operating forklift trucks and assisting with the loading and unloading of vehicles, where appropriately trained and authorised.
• Supporting the Workshop Supervisor, Operations Manager and Project Engineers.
• Assisting with appropriate low-risk quality assurance and quality control activities under the direction of the QHSE team.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the workshop and warehouse.
• Participating in the workshop and warehouse on-call rota.
• Completing work in accordance with company policies, procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.

• Report environmental concerns and suggest practical improvements.

About you;

• A good standard of English and Mathematics.
• A City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or mechanical discipline.
• Previous experience in a similar mechanical or technical role.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally and able to simplify information to distil and relate to others in written and verbal formats.
• The ability to respond promptly and efficiently to project changes.
• A flexible and practical approach to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A clear commitment to health, safety, environment and quality.
• A self-motivated approach with pride in delivering work to a high standard.
• The confidence to work independently working to deadlines while contributing positively as part of a team.

Desirable

• Previous report-writing experience
• A valid forklift licence.
• MJI 10 and MJI 19 bolt-torquing qualifications
• A desire to continue developing your personal and professional skills.
