The BBA is looking to hire a Content Manager to join our Marketing team.

Purpose of Job:

The Content Manager will be responsible for developing, delivering and managing high-quality external-facing content that promotes our certification schemes, technical expertise, and industry trust. This role requires a creative, proactive, and highly organised individual who can translate technical information into compelling, accessible content across multiple channels. You understand the art of delivering impactful messages in the simplest, most impactful ways. You will oversee our digital and design presence, including social media, the website, and other relevant digital workspaces, and will help strengthen our position as a leading authority within the certification and built-environment sectors. This is a hands-on role for someone who isn’t afraid to get stuck in, bring fresh ideas, innovate, and take ownership of delivering impactful marketing output.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Management

  • Develop and deliver engaging, accurate and timely content that promotes our certification services, technical guidance, and brand values.
  • Lead on content creation relating to client journey, education, information.
  • Translate complex technical/certification topics into accessible, user-friendly value-adding content for diverse audiences.
  • Plan and manage a content calendar aligned with organisational priorities and campaign deliverables.
  • Produce blogs, articles, case studies, interviews, videos, infographics and social content.

Digital & Social Media Management

  • While not all social channels are notable channels for us, you will be required to own and manage all social media channels (LinkedIn, YouTube).
  • Monitor analytics and use insights to continually refine content strategies.

Website Management

  • Own, maintain, update and optimise website content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with brand messaging.
  • Collaborate with web developers/IT where needed to improve UX, structure and SEO.
  • Monitor website analytics and improve performance through data-led decision making.

Design & Creative

  • Produce or coordinate design assets, such as visuals for social campaigns, brochures, fact sheets, event collateral or presentations.
  • Efficient in regular use of design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite) to create on-brand creative materials and collateral.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all communications of brand architecture.

PR

  • You will lead on liaising with our Public Relations partners in the product of content in line with our Campaign Strategy and organisational strategy.
  • You will be responsible to ensure alignment the corporate brand voice, editorial judgement, corporate messaging and overall content strategy in line with a campaign plan.

Collaboration & Internal Support

  • Work closely with the Campaign Manager to deliver against a planned schedule of activity.
  • Work closely with technical teams, certification managers and senior leadership to gather accurate information and identify content opportunities.
  • Support events, webinars, and industry conferences with promotional activity, materials and on-the-ground content.
  • Assist colleagues with marketing-related requests, demonstrating a flexible, hands-on approach.

General Responsibilities:

  • Promote and adhere to all BBA policies and actively promote the BBA wherever possible
  • Responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues and others on the BBA premises in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and the BBA Health & Safety Handbook.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in content creation, marketing, or communications and design.
  • Design skills (Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign, Premier Pro etc.) (using existing templates).
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify technical information into value-added communication.
  • Experience managing social media channels and creating targeted digital content.
  • Website management experience (e.g., WordPress).
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable taking ownership, working proactively and getting stuck into tasks of all sizes
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console).

Desirable

  • Experience in the construction, engineering, testing, inspection or certification sectors.
