The BBA is looking to hire a Quality Engineer to join our Quality team.

Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of the Quality Engineer is to manage and improve BBAs document management system, ensuring full compliance. This is a multi-skilled role where the job holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of internal audits, identifying potential corrective and preventative actions and reporting to Group Quality Manager.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Quality Management Systems

  • Provide the basis for and monitor the first 2 Lines of Defence (LOD) for quality compliance across the business
  • Provide Group Quality Manager with metrics that we are compliant to, raise issues and manage resolution on our controlling 17000-series documents and other committed assurance schemes (e.g. Achilles, Trustmark)
  • Manage the system of controlled documents for the business, liaising with IT for the digital platform
  • Vet controlled documents before they are adopted into the quality system; ensure they co-ordinate and reject them if they are not of a sufficient standard
  • Other business improvement and development projects as agreed.

Internal Audit

  • Support internal & cross-functional audits and reviews are done and acted upon through the CARA processes
  • Where internal audits are allocated to the Quality Engineer, plan, organise and complete them
  • Provide a sounding board on the development of operational processes, and documents
  • Support reporting on Quality Metrics and Risk Management issues.

External Quality Assurance Audits

  • Support the management of programmes of external audits including by UKAS & Achilles; set up and manage the deep dives; report on outcomes; oversee and report on the corrective actions
  • Support new initiatives and change programmes to develop BBA compliance management to best-in-class status.

Continual Improvement

  • Seek to drive Quality improvements through BBA
  • Support the drive for digitisation
  • Use available company metrics to monitor outputs
  • Propose improvements to the system of controlled documents.

General Responsibilities

  • Promote and adhere to all BBA policies and actively promote the BBA wherever possible
  • Responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues and others on the BBA premises in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and the BBA Health & Safety Handbook.
