Technical Assessor - Management Systems:

The BBA is looking to hire a Technical Assessor - Management Systems to join our UK North based Audit team.

Role Purpose:

The main purpose of the Technical Assessor is to undertake and complete new and existing Management Systems, Product Certification and Factory Production Control assessments at client manufacturing sites and locations across the UK and overseas. This will include quality, environment, occupational health & safety, and site-specific assessments ensuring compliance with pre-identified scheme requirements. This is a multi-skilled role where the job holder will be expected to deliver the required levels of productivity whilst maintaining the quality of assessments carried out and reporting accordingly.

Essential Responsibilities:

Construction Product Manufacturing Audits:

  • Assess new and existing client manufacturing sites in order to determine the compliance of the product being certified or currently certified by the BBA.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on the assessment(s) undertaken at the client manufacturing sites within set time limits using the appropriate media.
  • Ensure work practices related to management system certification and product certification as defined in the relevant management system procedures and as required by the rules of accreditation under which the BBA operates.
  • Apply good working knowledge of manufacturing and building practices.

Factory Production Control:

  • Assess new and existing client factory production control processes associated with products, standards and/or systems under assessment certified by the BBA at client manufacturing sites.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on factory production control within set time limits using the appropriate media.
  • Apply good working knowledge of manufacturing and building practices.

Management Systems Assessor:

  • Assess new and existing client quality management systems against the requirements of ISO 9001 and other documented standards such as ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 and make decisions on compliance or otherwise.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on quality management systems within set time limits using the appropriate media.
  • Apply good working knowledge of manufacturing and building practices and quality management systems.
  • Ensure work practices related to quality management system certification and product certification as defined in the relevant management system procedures and as required by the rules of accreditation under which the BBA operates.

Planning:

  • Liaise closely with clients and BBA staff to ensure effective execution and communication of work to be carried out.
  • Manage diary and travel arrangements ensuring best use of own time and to maximise revenue earning activities.

Coaching/Mentoring/Technical Advice:

  • Supervise induction/coaching/knowledge transfer to new and inexperienced assessors.
  • Coach assessors under training and if required recommend further training and development.
  • Help mentor less experienced assessors as and when required.
  • Provide technical and contractual advice and expertise when required.

Other:

  • Deliver the required productivity levels whilst maintaining a professional and courteous service. Document: Technical Assessor Date: April 2024 Page: 2 of 3
  • Provide information and advice on the range of services provided by the BBA.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and sales leads ensuring details are passed to relevant staff.
  • Keep up to date with all relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and technical documentation that apply to the work accordingly.
  • Maintain professional competence by attending training courses and updating skills as and when required.
  • Attend relevant BBA/Committee meetings when required.
  • Covers the duties / responsibilities of team members when required regionally, nationally, and internationally.

General Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues and others on the BBA premises in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and the BBA H&S manual.
